EWIS TG 4&5: Initial (Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems) (BCON-EWIS4&5)

Description

Compliant with EASA AMC 20-22

For decades, aircraft wiring was treated as a secondary installation however, major air transport accidents and aging fleet data revealed a critical truth: wiring is an open, complex system that requires its own dedicated safety analysis and maintenance philosophy.

This comprehensive e-learning program is built in accordance with EASA AMC 20-22, ensuring your team masters the skills necessary to identify, maintain, and protect the complex electrical pathways that keep modern aircraft safely in the air.

Targeted for Groups 4 & 5

AMC 20-22 establishes specific target groups to ensure personnel receive training suited to their exact operational impact. This course covers the technical requirements for Target Groups 4 and 5:

  • Target Group 4 (Qualified staff performing general maintenance/inspections not involving wire maintenance (LRU change is not considered wire maintenance): These staff members are personnel who perform maintenance on aeroplane that may require removal/reconnection of electrical connective devices (e.g. inspectors/technicians cat A or B1).
  • Target Group 5 (Qualified staff performing other engineering or planning work on in-service aeroplane.): These staff members are personnel who are authorised to design mechanical/structure systems installations, modifications and repairs, or personnel who are authorised to plan maintenance tasks.

Course Objectives & Syllabus

Our curriculum maps directly to the training objectives outlined in Appendix B of AMC 20-22, moving through crucial safety competencies:

  • Safety Practices & Environmental Hazards: Recognising the dangers of improper wire handling and contamination.
  • Cleanliness & Zonal Inspections: Implementing the Protect and Clean As You Go philosophy. You will learn what constitutes a proper EWIS inspection within specific aircraft zones.
  • Typical Damage: Identifying types of damage within electrical systems and where they are most likely to occur.
  • Bonding & Grounds: Understand the requirements of bonding and grounding within aircraft.
  • Human Factors in Wiring: Understanding how complacency, poor lighting, or rushed work can lead to latent wiring defects.

Built for Compliance

  • AMC 20-22 Compliant: Formulated to meet the expectations of European and national aviation authorities.
  • Advanced Narration: Interactive voice-over to guide you through the material.
  • High-Quality Visuals & Scenarios: Packed with examples of real aircraft wiring discrepancies, ensuring inspectors know exactly what failure looks like in the hangar.
  • Instant Verification: A certificate is automatically generated upon passing the final assessment.
